Marni is the story of an Italian company founded by a woman, who in the 50s discovered an innate passion for fashion in the family tailoring workshop.  Growing up among fabrics and leathers, Consuelo Castiglioni dreamed of her own brand, that’s whay in 1994 Marni was born.

From her love for art, Consuelo created collections for all those women, who, driven by a strong personality, sought clothing that reflected on the outside how they felt on the inside. Manifesto of this display of temperament is absolutely one of Consuelo's most famous creations: the fussbett; unmistakable flat and comfortable sandals.“Because a woman is much more fascinating if she can walk safely, without having to struggle on very high and unstable heels”. These are the words of the enterprising designer, in a world where the catwalks are packed with every type of heeled shoe, elegant but casual, sexy but refined, Marni opts for practical and eccentric.

The Marni woman is not just any woman, she is a confident woman who is not afraid to dare. Over the years the brand has seen its market grow immeasurably, becoming part of the luxury world. In fact, starting from 2016, the reins of Marni have been entrusted to Francesco Risso, a young man who trained in the greatest fashion schools. Since its debut, Risso has brought Marni to the most envied catwalks in the world, also giving space to menswear for the first time. The young designer has pushed Marni beyond all boundaries, perfectly embracing the heritage and uniqueness that Consuelo Castiglioni gave it in its early days.

In recent years the brand has become fascinated by the world of millennials, winking at its younger customers who are sensitive to new things, "Francesco has forged a new direction for the brand, rejuvenating it and appropriating it." So says Renzo Rosso, current president of the OTB group of which Marni has been part since 2012.

From its debut to today, Marni has not lost the eclecticism and uniqueness that has always marked it, it continues to create collections that are vehicles of freedom and personal expression.
